Safety

Paraná is considered a safe state with peaceful, well-policed cities.
The State Police is present in the municipalities to assure public safety in urban areas. The State of Paraná also counts on the pro-active actions of the Military Police that wear a khaki uniform and attend occurrences in the cities. To assure safety in public places, every municipality has its own Municipal Guard. Their uniform varies according to the location, but the municipal guards of Curitiba wear a blue uniform.
