Travellers that bring their own medication must inquire about customs formalities in Brazil. Generally, in pharmacies, medication is only sold with a prescription from a member of the Associação Médica Brasileira (Brazilian Medical Association) – AMB. In case of a medical emergency, call 192, which the number of the Mobile Emergency Assistance Service – SAMU, from any land or mobile phone.
